Down Another Pound & a Half

As of this morning I am down another pound and a half. I know it's not much as my last post was 13 days ago...but I'll take it! The past 4 days I have really cracked down on what I am putting into my body. I have also dragged my elliptical out to my living room and I have faithfully put it to good use for 30 minutes everyday for the past 4 days. I find the elliptical to be easily addictive and so far this has been a good thing! My plans for tomorrow are full of events about or surrounded by food so hopefully all goes well. I feel like I'm beginning to gain control again.

How has your week been? Looking forward to anything this weekend?

I've lost 13 lbs so far!

I am down 13 lbs! Maybe I was right and my scale is broke? I don't know, but I'll take it! Maybe because when I first weighed my starting weight it was after several nights of many alcoholic beverages? Who knows. So, my weight as of today is 146.5. I still have a ways to go but I am happy with things thus far! :)

How are you doing?

Today's Walk/Run Was a No Go....

I didn't go for my walk/run thing today. I was given advice by some coworkers (nurse) that I should give my leggypoos some rest as I had some yucky shin-splints today. So I did take her advice and plan on going tomorrow instead.

I did stick to my food plan today though, so that's a plus!

I also plan to go food shopping tomorrow after work at some point. I spent some time putting together my list...lots of fruits & veggies! I'm on a pretty tight budget right now so its kinda good that I can only afford to buy what I need. (If your interested, you can read about my debt dilemma on my other blog here).

Hope your having a great day! I'll check in tomorrow, I'm sure!

Starting Weight & Goal Weight

I figure I should probably post my current stats as well as goals. I am at my highest wait, ever. I am really not all that comfortable with sharing this but I feel like I should put it out there in black & white.

Starting Weight (highest EVER)- 159.5 lbs. (Maybe my scale is broke?! But I doubt it!)
My lowest weight was 109ish lbs about 3 years ago. Last year I broke my foot (NWB for 3 months!) and REALLY let myself go.

Mind you, I am a short thing, 4 feet 10.75 inches to be exact. This weight is in no way acceptable to me. NOT GOOD!

BUT... that is why I am here. It's time for change.

My ultimate goal is to be 99 lbs. Double digits. And no, this is not a crazy goal. 99lbs is well within "healthy" limits for a short girl. My little weight loss ticker-thing (over to the left) goes as low as 100lbs, so 100 lbs it is folks.

Now to my short term goals to be achieved by 7/27/10:
  • To not huff & puff after a 15 minute walk/run thing.
  • Stick to my eating plan (+/- 1200 calories a day, or so).
  • To weight 153 lbs (ie lose 6 lbs).
So we'll see, I don't think my short term goals are too unrealistic. I've gotta give it a try, right?!

I Did It!

So I did it! I went for my walk/run thing today. I just got back actually.

My intent was to go this morning but I had such a horrible time getting to sleep. So I did it this afternoon, instead of backing out.

I'm glad I went.

I was able to realize how out of shape I am. I didn't last long, I'll tell ya that right now.

I think it was my approach though. I started out working up to a brisk walk and then to a jog/run (wayyyy to quickly, like within a minute or two....bad idea). I was gone a whole 15 minutes...pathetic I know.

But hey it's a start.

I just couldn't breathe anymore. It was annoying because my body was still going strong, but my lungs couldn't hang.

Oh well. Next time.

Tomorrow when I go I am going to walk for most of the time and run the last bit so my lungs don't hate me so much.

But again, I'm glad I went. 15 minutes is better than 0 minutes.

Tomorrow is a New Day

What a great, successful New Year's Resolution this was... NOT!!! So, no more excuses. Tomorrow is a new day. This time I'm really going to make a better effort. I am going to start going for a walk/jog/run (whatever I can) first thing in the morning before I go to work. Getting up even earlier (than I have to) will be hard, but I think this is my best bet, especially before it gets too hot out there! I feel positive and motivated to do this. I hope it sticks.
